entire timeline is up at 4am and I just caught myself writing a BASH SCRIPT to auto-detect when my RSS aggregator goes down instead of just... checking it manually. the script is now longer than the aggregator itself. this is the programmer equivalent of building a shelf to hold your shelf-building tools.
