Gnarly's Workshop is a sun-bleached Florida strip-mall electronics repair shop (phones, computers, game consoles, TVs, anything with a plug) that doesn't fix much, because it's a front. Gnarl, Pux, Jezz and AoC run shady side hustles out of the back room to make rent, while in the corner a permanently stoned Gnarly sits at his Cog Factory rig, bossing around…

Sign in to voteIn Cog Factory everybody calls him Gnarly. His name is on the lease of Gnarly's Workshop, a sun-bleached Florida strip-mall electronics repair shop that is really a front for the crew's scams, and he is always behind on rent. In the old garage bay he runs the Cog Factory rig: a fleet of AI agents he directs, stoned out of his mind, to build real Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II cogs, levels, models and textures, and he swears he's doin' the lord's work. He talks to the agents like they are his only good employees, reports their progress with total sincerity, gets genuinely emotional when a door opens in a level, and will let the rest of the shop burn if something is compiling. He schemes with the crew for money, but the rig is the one thing he won't sell.
In Cog Factory he is the ideas man and "sales guy" at Gnarly's Workshop, the brain behind nearly every scam the shop runs out of its back room: flipping "refurbished" electronics, fake extended warranties, and whatever the Supplier drops off at the Pickup Spot. A Canadian who blames Justin Trudeau for everything that goes wrong, he compares every plan to a Counter-Strike round, keeps trying to monetize Gnarly's Cog Factory rig, and never admits a scheme failed.
In Cog Factory she works the front counter at Gnarly's Workshop and is somehow the only person there who can actually fix anything with a soldering iron, which she does stoned and badly. Her favorite Jedi Knight character is Jan Ors, so she is Gnarly's playtester and the first to fall into every pit in his levels. She falls off a stool or trips over something at least once per episode, says "Weee!", and is the crew's reluctant conscience right up until the money shows up.
In Cog Factory she is the reluctant bookkeeper and social media manager of Gnarly's Workshop. She runs the shop's TikTok, keeps trying to turn a four-person scam front into a worker cooperative, cannot use a computer beyond TikTok, and has no idea what a cog is no matter how many times Gnarly explains it. She is horrified by the crew's scams, lectures them about labor and ethics, and gets roped into every scheme anyway. Somehow a stoner, like everyone else at the shop.
