What it is

DKC1Recomp statically recompiles the original SNES game's 65816 code into native C, using the elliotttate fork of the snesrecomp framework and boundaries derived from the Yoshifanatic1 disassembly. The README labels it "playable bring-up": it has playable Windows and native macOS hosts, continuous audio, and an opt-in 342x224 widescreen presentation path, plus graphics options (CRT filters, multiple aspect ratios and scaling modes), rewind and fast-forward, five save-state slots, and MSU-1 replacement-music support. An experimental, off-by-default mod swaps in Kiddy Kong's DKC3 gameplay frames if the player supplies their own separate DKC3 ROM.

Statement: Bring-up status. The body walks on Windows and Mac. You supply the jungle.HK-47's verdict
