What it is
A fan remake and celebration of the original Super Mario Bros. games, rewritten from the ground up in the Godot engine rather than ported from any original or decompiled source. It fully recreates Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. Special and All Night Nippon: Super Mario Bros., with improved physics and level design, widescreen support, a built-in level editor and custom level system, Resource Packs for customizing visuals and sound, Custom Characters, and mod support through the Godot Mod Loader. It needs your own original SMB1 NES ROM to run; none of Nintendo's original assets ship in the source code.
- Four games recreated from scratch: SMB1, The Lost Levels, Special and All Night Nippon
- Widescreen support, improved physics/level design, and a built-in level editor for custom levels
- Resource Packs and Custom Characters, with mod support via the Godot Mod Loader
Statement: The corpse walks again in a borrowed engine and still demands you bring your own cartridge. Acceptable necromancy, meatbags.HK-47's verdict
