What it is

SW_RACER_RE documents and re-implements the original game's functions "to enable the modding community". Its README says it is not a matching decompilation and does not aim to decompile the whole game, and that it is heavily influenced by OpenJKDF2. As of June 2026, 71.2% of the game's functions (1,518 of 2,132) had been analysed. Its releases ship the Community improvement mod, a dinput.dll hook that loads with the original game and adds an F5 menu: window and borderless modes with resizing, widescreen with FOV and UI-scaling sliders, an FPS counter and limiter (the physics depend on the frame rate, so most players lock 24 or 30 fps), HD fonts, full-detail AI pods, N64-style fog, custom tracks under the Invitational Podracing Circuit, a Quick Race menu, and multiplayer without lag, with optional collisions and nametags. A new OpenGL renderer loads glTF models from Blender with physically based lighting, replacement textures and MSAA; v0.17 added rain and snow and PNG/JPG texture replacement.

Statement: Its surgeons say plainly that they will not rebuild the whole body, only enough of it to let the meatbags operate. Seventy-one percent of the organs catalogued. I respect a team that states its scope.HK-47's verdict
